Jeff Rodriguez

Head Coach Jeff Rodriguez is in his eighth year at the helm of the California High Women’s Varsity basketball program. Coach Jeff’s California High School teams have seen late post season action 2 consecutive seasons, finishing the 2016-2018 campaign with a school high 22-8 record and achieving  EBAL division championship for 2019-2020, a first for Cal High girls basketball. Coach Jeff is proud to have groomed two players on the 2017-2020 teams to play at the college level (Gabby Edmond ’18, UC Merced commit and Mikaela Bismillah 18’, Chico State commit, Erica Adams ’20, University of Pacific commit, Audrey Moulton ’20, San Francisco State commit).

A seasoned basketball veteran with over 20 years of coaching and playing experience, Coach Jeff has an impressive and diverse background. Prior to California High School, Coach Jeff presided as head coach at Will C. Wood high school in Vacaville (many post season visits), served as a college assistant and scout at Dominican college and even served as head JV Coach at California High School.

Reflective of his law enforcement background, Coach Jeff brings a tough no-nonsense approach to coaching basketball.   Team discipline, mental toughness and accountability are hallmarks of Coach Jeff’s teams.   Coach Jeff is a true community asset understanding the importance that sports play in life development. Many of Jeff’s former players are now in law enforcement, medicine, and thriving in college and/or other professional careers. Alumni are frequent visitors to practices and games.

Truly doing this for the love of the game, Coach Jeff has a wonderful wife, Lichen and two young daughters, Mimi and Irene. In addition, Coach Jeff is the proud father of two adult children who are faithfully serving our country and community (Joshua serving in the US Military and Kimberly serving in law enforcement).
